Tagun: Relax and Ride
Because women ride differently – at least when given the chance. The motto for female velo fans is, stylish cruising instead of high-speed cornering and riding pleasure instead of heroic stunts. It’s about time that someone in the recumbent sector finally figured out what women want: The Tagun, with its intentionally feminine design, from the German bike manufacturer Hase Bikes, not only looks like a real woman’s bike – it also rides like one.
Tagun: Relax and Ride
Instead of shoulder pain, it’s a laid-back recumbent position, instead of rock-hard sport-bike saddle, a mesh seat that cradles you gently. Your hands fall comfortably on the handlebars with no crouching required, and the view of the horizon is endless: Forget the neck strain.
What sets the Tagun apart from men’s recumbents? The adjustable seat can be positioned at a height of 48 to 68 cm (19”-27”). At this height, the woman sits at about the same level as a car driver, meaning a good overview and lots of passive safety. And anyway, who really wants to be able to zoom beneath an 18-wheeler? With its long wheelbase, the Tagun handles beautifully and stably; swift, without the jumpiness that short-wheelbase recumbents are known for. Women don’t pedal upwards, like many male meteorites, but ergonomically toward the front. The rear suspension provides a comfort that others can only dream of. Cruising in the city – or on the open road – has never been so comfortable. And best of all: Braggart boasting from self-proclaimed cycling gurus is passé. The Tagun can be mastered without recumbent training: Just climb on, lean back, and take off. Balancing – even at a walking pace is – is a piece of cake!
True high-tech instead of macho pretension!
The Tagun’s suspension is the crème de la crème: An air-shock element can be quickly, easily, and accurately adjusted to the weight of the rider by means of a pump. This means maximum comfort over any surface. Both the height and the angle of the seat can be adjusted. For example, the moderate kitchen-chair position is perfect for daily commutes in the city,

This means maximum comfort over any surface. Both the height and the angle of the seat can be adjusted. For example, the moderate kitchen-chair position is perfect for daily commutes in the city, and the beach-lounger-like 44 degree recline, for swift slopes on longer tours. The SRAM DualDrive gear system combines the best of derailleur and hub gears: Ultra-rapid gear changing together with the ability to shift gears when standing still. With this technology on the handlebars, you’ll be leaving the boys in your dust. And the disc brakes will ensure that your speed is just right for the next cornering adventure – great stopping power with a light touch.
Tagun: Like Feng Shui for mobility
“Floral Design” is what Hase is calling the new Tagun look. The flower pattern on the steel frame and the spring-fresh colors – citrus yellow and May green – wet the appetite for a relaxed nature tour. Or keep you in a light-hearted, spring-like state of mind on your commute or shopping trip. Apropos shopping: Hase offers a list of optional accessories that are as diverse as the individual preferences of its customers: From touring equipment such as the luggage rack and lowrider rack to the suspension fork and front fairing. And in addition to the two standard models, the Tagun is also available as a custom-made bike: The components can be combined to your personal preferences.
