That’s a good 15 pounds (6.8 kg) per rider – which is, by the way, the exact minimum weight permitted by the UCI for competition bicycles. No wonder: The tube set, which is custom-built for the Pino frame, is made of high-grade titanium. And nearly all components come from the building kits of weight-tuning specialists.
The stoker sits securely in a relaxed position, in the adjustable fine carbon bucket seat. As for the captain: Bar-end shifters control the noble Dura Ace gear system, and the Tune cranksets transfer every ounce of power directly to the chain and on to the narrow-tired 26-inch rim. This much power must be kept under control – with the Louise disc brakes, no problem!
