12,000 km with the Pino through Canada
In 2001, Heinz Stücke and Sergei Dashevski rode across Canada with one of the first Hase Pino tandems built. A better test for a new bicycle is hardly imaginable. And the Pino passed the test with flying colors. After 12,000 km, or 7,500 miles (including a 1,000-km/620-mile stretch of gravel road) and with a total weight of more than 240 kg (530 lbs), the Pino seemed relatively unimpressed by this torture.

The two riders, on the other hand, were highly impressed: »Cruising at 90 km/h downhill, the Pino handled like a dream,« according to the riders. In addition, the generous gear range pulled them up practically every hill. They were even able to pedal the Pino up a hill with a gradient of 17%.
The two test pilots were just about the best test riders you could imagine. Heinz Stücke has been cycling for 40 years and has been to every single country in the world.

He is entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the »Longest Traveling Human«.
Sergei Dashevski has won numerous recumbent cycling races. His specialty is 24-hour races. The perfect partner for the long haul and one for whom fast is never fast enough. According to Heinz Stücke: »Sergei has a one-track mind: speed. With him, you just keep shifting through all 27 gears and speeding up and down the hills.«
